goodbyegoodriddance asked: i'm working on becoming a makeup artist in my area, currently. suggestions on inexpensive, quality products that are necessary in your opinion?
Well first off, you need good brushes! If you’re looking for inexpensive, buy a few of the EcoTools sets, they run around $12 for a set!
If you’re looking for more professional brushes, you can go for MAC, Sephora or Chanel, but those are around 20 per brush, and that’s going to hurt your pocket.
Then I’d start with an eyeshadow palette. Get one with a lot of colors and very good pigments. I’ve heard very good things about both of the 88 Costal Scents palettes (Shimmer and Matte) and the 120 Manly Palette, but I’ve got the Sephora Color Play (They don’t sell the exact one I have anymore, but this one is very similar). I love my palette. Sephora has decent pigments and if you use a primer, you’ll be just fine. And that’s where we get to primers! I really like Urban Decay’s Primer Potion but if you intend on doing a lot of people’s makeup, then you might need something that comes with a lot more!
Those or my suggestions, but you can find a lot more through google.
I found this kit, and it might help you find the basic things you’ll need, whether you buy this one or not!
Good luck, I wish you the best!
